Private tours in English

In Brno we currently offer two tours in English:

       1) Classic tour

       2) Short tour through the Old Town

1) Classic tour

This tour is designed for anyone interested in the past and present of the city.

It offers a good combination of history, storytelling and useful insider tips.
 

We will talk about the most important events that shaped Brno:

the Swedish siege, the time when products from the local textile factories were literally exported all over the world and the expulsion of Brno's Germans after the Second World War. You will also find out how the Brno city dialect originated, why there is a phallus on Freedom Square and why the bell rings at 11 o'clock in Brno.
 

Together we will pass by all the important sights and places in the Old Town:

St Peter and Paul's Cathedral, the Old Town Hall, Freedom Square, St James' Church, the Vegetable Market and many others. We will also visit the funcitonalist Alfa passage with the atmosphere of the First Republic.

2) Short tour through the Old Town

As the name suggests, this tour is a shorter version of the classic one. Accordingly, it is relaxed and ideal for those who prefer a leisurely and brief stroll. Perfect for hot summer or cold winter days, as there is always time to grab an ice cream or a cup of mulled wine.​

​

Just like on the longer tour, we will pass by most of the important sights and locations of the Old Town together: the Old Town Hall, Freedom Square, St. Jacob's Church, and the Vegetable Market. We will also visit the funcitonalist Alfa passage with the atmosphere of the First Republic.

The following topics are excluded from the tour:

The Cathedral, Textile Industry, and the Expulsion of the Brno Germans.
